Although Shantee wasn’t able to join me and Marc on our Boracay trip last weekend with Pinoy travel bloggers (which was sponsored by Microtel Inns & Suites Boracay, in partnership with South East Asian Airlines and Zuzuni Boutique Hotel and Restaurant), we made sure to bring her a present so she wouldn’t feel so bad:

We bought the shell dog necklace Shantee is wearing on the photo above from one of the vendors in Puka Beach. It was actually a bracelet, but the vendor willingly adjusted its length so it fitted Shantee while Marc and I jumped waves in the Puka Beach surf.

The beach itself isn’t really ideal for swimming (but then again, January isn’t really the best time to go to Boracay unlike during the summer), but it was nontheless beautiful. Marc and I even imagined that if Shantee was there, she probably would have been easily swept away by the undercurrent on the seashore.

Shantee’s real proud of her Boracay shells dog necklace!

Aside from providing us with high-quality room accommodations, Microtel also gave us some tokens and freebies. I would have gladly took home one of their chiropractic beds—but you just can’t have everything Anyway, the Microtel giveaway included a pair of simple bead bracelets—which, of course, became additional dog necklaces for Shantee!

Here’s Shantee wearing the Microtel “dog necklace”

She doesn’t seem to feel bad about being left behind and not being invited anymore, does she? Hehe.

About time I blogged this. Shantee’s going to be outgrowing her Swarovski dog necklace, but I kept forgetting to post an entry about it till now. Anyhoo, take a look of the necklace I’m talking about:

Shantee’s actually wearing this on her picture on this post, it’s just not noticeable from that angle. And yep, the dog necklace is made of Swarovski crystals—a dog necklace which used to be my bracelet

I added the chain so it would be easy to adjust, and Shantee won’t get choke on it if it’s too tight. That’s actually the nice thing about having a small dog—they’re so little you can just convert a bracelet into a fashionable necklace for them. Since Shantee’s a miniature version of a Shih Tzu (tiny teacup Shih Tzu or “Princess type” Shih Tzu), there’s still a chance that she won’t outgrow her necklace that much—a little adjustment might just do the trick. If she gets too big for it though, I can always just get her a collar or ask my cousin to make a custom dog necklace for her.

If you’re into making beaded necklaces or that sort of thing, creating one for your dog is way way cheaper than buying those in pet shops. Try it! Your dog fashionista will surely love it

Sheero had been the inspiration for this blog. She had been, after all, the “fashionista” in our dog pack. All of our other dogs didn’t like wearing dog clothes or blings—all of them except for Sheero.

Marc, my husband, and I are still deciding on the perfect gravestone for Sheero, so for now, a hand-made one will do. Besides, my family has plans of moving—it might not be a good idea to have a gravestone made and delivered at the moment just in case we had to transfer already. This is what I came up with:

I found the ceramic plate in our garden, and I painted it with Sheero’s name and stuff. Albeit temporary, I still wanted it to be at least a bit glitzy, so I added a few faux diamond studs on the cross. Being the fashionista that she is, I’m pretty sure Sheero liked it

I bought this collar from Bio Research in SM Megamall for about P179 (that’s around $4). I meant for it to be Sheero’s “going out” collar, but she seems quite fond of it already so I just left it on her. The collar certainly gave my dog a touch of class!
