It’s been weeks since the Bow & Wow Benefit Dinner for CARA, but I still can’t get over how pretty Shantee’s dress was!
She was actually supposed to wear her signature Dog Fashionista princess gown, but Shantee’s bulging tummy didn’t quite agree 😛 The little doggie model unfortunately gained a lot of weight… The velcro in the tummy part just wouldn’t close! I was about to resort to drastic measures (such as making emergency adjustments to the tummy area just so it would fit), but luckily, Doodles Paw Couture came through! 🙂 Read more
It’s been months since I’ve last gotten Shantee doggie wear. I didn’t want to dress her up in the middle of summer… The heat would be unbearable for this little Shih Tzu.
But of course, nothing could keep this Dog Fashionista from dressing up too long! She was so excited when I had her wear this purple and silver striped dog shirt I bought from Saizen at Robinsons Metro East. Read more
Summer is almost here! If we had four seasons in the Philippines, it’ll probably be around spring time now. Of course, Shantee the Dog Fashionista is into it too 🙂
I actually made this spring time doggie dress for Shantee a few years back. She wore it for a short television segment on GMA7’s Zooperstars with child actress Sabrina Man (not sure if the show is still running now though). But hey, it’s spring time! Since I haven’t posted this dress on Dog Fashionista anyway, I thought this would be the best time to bring it out once again… Read more
Kubrick isn’t as vain and attention-hog as Shantee the Dog Fashionista, but he’s very obedient — he’ll wear anything you put on him. He’d even stay put till you say so. Giving him a photo shoot is so easy, though he doesn’t have the natural affinity for “dog poses” like Shantee does. Nonetheless, he’s still adorable 🙂
For his birthday, he got the chance to try out doggie wear from our friends at Doodles Paw Couture (thanks much, DPC!). I was a bit skeptical to dress him up at first… He is, after all, a boy dog. But, as usual, DPC came through. They have perfectly “macho” outfits for our little boy! Read more
Ever since I put up this blog in June 2007, I’ve been getting email messages asking me for price lists. Apparently, a lot think that I’m selling dog clothes 😛 I’m not, and I just like dressing up my pooch. And yep, I do make most of my dogs’ clothes, but nothing really extravagant.
I’ve always wanted to make a really nice gown for Shantee, but I honestly don’t have enough patience for the details. The most detailed dress I’ve probably ever done for Shantee was her dog wedding gown, but after that, the most I made for her are dresses that don’t really have much details. I don’t really know much about sewing techniques. After all, I’m just doing this for fun.
Luckily, our generous friends from Doodles Paw Couture (DPC) made Shantee’s “dream” of having a real doggie gown a reality!
I’m no fashion designer, but this gown fits The Dog Fashionista’s personality perfectly, wouldn’t you say? 😀 Read more
Last Sunday, 23 October 2011, PAWS held its 8th Scaredy Cats and Dogs pets and kids costume contest. This happens every year, but it’s only now my sister and I decided to actively take part in it. The Php250 registration fee went to PAWS, and that really makes it worth the effort 🙂
Shantee came as Rainbow Brite since we knew she wouldn’t want to wear something as weird as Kubrick’s Steamed Shrimp costume. The weirdness (and apparently the uniqueness) of Kubrick’s costume won him the Crypt Keeper’s Choice (Most Original Costume) award, and Shantee went home sourgraping 😛 Read more
Summer is coming to an end, but Shantee’s still having some hangovers 🙂 We keep the air-conditioner on during office hours and let the dogs wander as we go about our work. Of course, Shantee needs to glam it up while “working” at our home office!
That’s Shantee’s summer “office girl” look — conservative cuts but with the bright hues of summer. It’s the same dress she wore during her TV shoots with the Kulilits and Zooperstars crew. The summery colors just looked great on TV! 🙂
We got this dog dress from a shop in Tiendesitas for about Php150-200. I can’t remember the exact amount, but I do remember it being on sale. Shantee just loves it!!! 😀
Oh wow. It’s been a long time since I last blogged here at Dog Fashionista! Sorry about that. I’ve been quite busy with work and a few other things (besides the fact that my husband and I recently launched each of our own travel blogs. Anyhow, I might be redesigning this site’s layout soon—I’ll keep cotton candy pink and yellow, but I’ll change it in such a way that will make more room for bigger photos! 🙂
Anyway, one of my latest purchases is a Flotation Jacket for Shantee. She was so excited trying it on, knowing fully well that “dressing up” means “going out.” But not this time! Read more
I was sorting my digital photo archive and wondering what photo I can use of Shantee’s to post on this blog, when I suddenly remembered the dog fashionista Marc and I saw at Boracay Island when we went there with Pinoy travel and photo bloggers last month (that’s also when I bought Shantee’s favorite dog shell necklace).
This little fashion pooch belonged to one of the Boracay locals we saw hanging out with their pets at the beach. I couldn’t remember her name, nor do I know her breed, but this little girl sure knows what it’s like to live in high fashion at the beach! Read more
Last Thursday, Shantee “got married” to Peter, our old hamster, for the Sunday television episode of Rated K on ABS-CBN. Shantee and Peter’s unique friendship was one of their main stories, and my pets took part in the pet blessing ceremony they had for their Valentines’ Day special.
Of course, I made Shantee a gown. I couldn’t let her “walk down the aisle” an under-dressed bride! Read more
