Just recently, things at work have picked up considerably, so my husband Marc and I had to hire a household help, Nelia. Nelia worked with Marc’s great-aunt, but when his great-aunt passed away, we thought it best to just hire Nelia since we were in need of somebody helping us take care of the house and the pets because of our increasingly busy work schedule. Just in time, Bow & Wow sent us an organic shampoo for the dogs to try: a 16 fl. oz. bottle of Doggie Sudz Mango and Neem All-Natural Shampoo for Pampering Pooch.

Of course, the Dog Fashionista Shantee needs to be the first dog to try it! Read more
Yah, yah, I know I haven’t been updating… But wait! You’re now looking at the spiffy new design of Dog Fashionista

Yesterday was Dog Fashionista’s fourth anniversary (the blog, not the dog!), so I thought it was the right time to relaunch the site with a new theme design, custom-made by yours truly. Do start following us again, as we have a lot of updates in store for you! And while you’re at it, please like Shantee’s page on Facebook
Shantee was my canine companion at the Cats and Dogs 2: Revenge of Kitty Galore mall tour event at Ali Mall last Saturday. She’s the most behaved in our Shih Tzu brood, sitting still for long periods of time letting people admire her and comment how adorable she is. My little fashionista is a real diva, but it’s her diva-ness that makes her a great doggy companion during pet events.

The Dog Fashionista was starting to stink, so I figured it was time to make use of the Pet Express Php100 off Bath and Blow Dry gift certificate we got during the TailRunners pet and human fun run last summer. The event was starting a bit later than the scheduled 1pm, but we were already in Cubao by 11:30am so there was still time to have Shantee showered. Read more
One of the possible things that could happen to a mommy dog during and after pregnancy is the lack of nutrients. When Shantee was pregnant earlier this year, I already noticed that we had to increase her food intake as her usual wasn’t enough anymore. Some of her fur started falling off too (though this might be partly due to a cheaper dog food brand we had to buy when the shop we usually buy dog food from ran out of Shantee and Kubrick’s usual brand). By the time she was breast-feeding her pups, she had ugly bald spots
I had to have her fur cut real short to make it grow evenly once again. This wasn’t so bad as it was the middle of the summer, but as you know, my little Dog Fashionista is very particular about how she looked. It was hard to make her pose for pictures and she didn’t look forward to daily walks like she used to because of her very short fur

A shaved Shantee with Eukanuba bags, two months ago
I was honestly a bit skeptical when we were asked for our dogs to try Eukanuba for two months. We’ve already had a bad experience trying out other brands of dog food, and I wasn’t sure if Shantee was allergic to the formula that Eukanuba uses. Anyway, since we have a lot of other dogs who aren’t allergic to specific dog food brands, we decided to give it a try. If all else fails with Shantee and Kubrick, at least our other dogs can try it out. Read more
Summer is coming to an end, but Shantee’s still having some hangovers
We keep the air-conditioner on during office hours and let the dogs wander as we go about our work. Of course, Shantee needs to glam it up while “working” at our home office!

That’s Shantee’s summer “office girl” look — conservative cuts but with the bright hues of summer. It’s the same dress she wore during her TV shoots with the Kulilits and Zooperstars crew. The summery colors just looked great on TV!
We got this dog dress from a shop in Tiendesitas for about Php150-200. I can’t remember the exact amount, but I do remember it being on sale. Shantee just loves it!!!
